Winter’s coming; best get the beers in then.
Hi folks!
I’m back home in Moscow – where it seems the fall has been cancelled! I flew out in summer – and flew back in winter! ->
The contrast was remarkable – from the tropics to this. And winter’s still a month away! All this talk of global warming? It doesn’t seem to apply to Moscow in November 2024!…
Right on cue to brighten-lighten my wintry mood, when I returned to my office for the first time in ages there was a surprise waiting for me in there…

How many cans of beer make up this here armchair?!
Well, well. Now that’s what I call an original birthday pressie! Sure, my b-day was over a month ago – but I was away then (for both business and pleasure) and, as mentioned, I’ve only just returned…
Wait – who’s that on the can? I think I recognize him, but I’m not sure. Whoever it is, he’s “never old”, so I’m with him there )…
So what’s the story with this craft beer?
Well, I have to say that before our summer vacation in Kamchatka, if ever I were to find myself drinking beer, it would be the traditional type; however, some specialist craft beer establishments in Moscow had procured a great many different unusual flavors, and we really liked this one – so we bought the lot!
It sure isn’t traditional-tasting beer – but it sure is tasty! Strong too! ->
Bonus track: check out the label – a math brainteaser! Perfect! (It’s in case you’re feeling down and the beer isn’t lifting your spirits as beer should – like a plan-b). Anyway, can you crack it (without scanning the QR-code)? ->
Mathematical snack to go with the beer
A liter of beer is poured into a glass. 99% of that liter is the beer itself; the other 1% is absolutely stable froth. Suddenly, a telephone spammer calls, and while you’re telling them your credit card number by the time you realize what’s afoot, only 98% of the beer remains out of the overall volume. How much beer and froth in total is still in the glass?
Don’t hurry. Drink more and think deeper.
There’s another QR-code on the can too – one taking you to our Who Calls app! ->
Thank you dear friends and colleagues for this special gift – it will be fondly imbibed and remembered…
PS: Thanks to the Krasnodar-based GANZA brewery too!
And now – back to work!…
