Epicenter.
As you’ll have guessed (or maybe not) – this is Nagasaki:
This time in Japan I was practically never out of a suit – and tie! Such an unusual state of affairs could mean only one thing: no sightseeing scheduled. However, there was one place in Nagasaki I simply couldn’t forego. Yes – where the second bomb was dropped 70 years ago.
The memorial park features monuments from more than a dozen countries, including Italy, Brazil, Holland, Turkey, Bulgaria and Cuba.
The monuments from the USSR, Czechoslovakia and GDR are grouped together and form a row. Curious: none these countries exists anymore:
A very sad and depressing place. But to not have stopped and paid my respects would have been out of the question.
